FDA to check safety of imported Chinese seafood

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Food and Drug Administration said on Thursday it will detain imports of Chinese farm-raised catfish, shrimp and other seafood to make sure the shipments are free from harmful residues.

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - In patients with type 1 diabetes, excess body weight and fat seems to increase the risk of coronary heart disease. However, as weight and fat levels increase, the severity of heart disease lessens, researchers announced at the 67th Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association in Chicago.
